JOURNEYMAN UPGRADE

Journeyman Iron Workers that take UPGRADE CLASSES at the apprenticeship school will be registered with Ivy Tech Community College.  Journeymen that want to receive an Associates of Applied Science Degree from Ivy Tech must have completed the apprenticeship program including completion of the three required general education courses:  History of Organized Labor, Technical Writing in the Workplace, and Human Relations in the Workplace.  Journeymen that take upgrade classes such as OSHA Safety, welding courses, Adult First Aid/CPR, etc. can use these credits to help satisfy the 15 residential credit requirements for the degree program.  Most of the classes can be taken at the apprenticeship school with the exception of Technical Writing which must be taken on Ivy Tech's campus for access to a computer lab and library.  There is no cost incurred by the journeyman.  Please call 317-635-4766 if interested in this program.
