All apprentices will also be enrolled in a degree program through IVY Tech State College. The courses will be taught by an accredited college professor. Each year you will complete one of the following courses- Human Relations, Labor History, Technical Writing, & Computers. Upon completion, not only will you receive the Ironworker Journeyman Certification, but also an Associates Degree from IVY Tech. This degree is the same as if you had attended the college as a full time student for two (2) years!
On the Job Training
You will supplement your education everyday as an Ironworker Apprentice! This "hands on" experience is an important part of your education. Much of the instruction you have received in the classroom will be applied on the job. Conversely, much of what you learn on the job can be applied in the classroom! This unique environment allows you to apply & retain what you have learned.
