Apprentice Terms & Wages

Apprentices start at 60% of the Journeyman's wage.  As of June 1st. 2007, the rate is $14.52 an hour.  Every six months you will receive a 5% pay increase, which is roughly $1.00 more an hour.  The pay increase remains effective until you earn 95% of the Journeyman's wages.  At which time, you will remain at 95% until completion of the apprenticeship.

 

Benefits

After working five (5) months & five (500) hundred hours you will become eligible for heath & welfare benefits.  Having met the 5mo. and 500 hr requirement, the benefits begin on the first day of the 6th month.   This includes hospital, prescriptions, and medical insurance for you & your dependants.  In addition to the regular benefits, you also have a pension, annuity, & disability fund.  The total amount of the combined benefits is $16.15 per hour worked.  All of the benefits will be further explained in the classroom should you be accepted.
